About the BIST 100

The BIST 100 is the principal index of Borsa Istanbul, tracking 100 of Turkey’s largest listed companies. It is denominated in lira, so its nominal level is strongly affected by high domestic inflation and currency swings — big point moves can partly reflect the lira rather than real gains. Central-bank policy and politics are major drivers.

What's inside it

The BIST 100 is made up of 100 companies (leading Turkish companies across banking, industrials, aviation and retail), combined using a free-float market-cap weighted method and quoted in TRY. Membership and weights are reviewed periodically by the index provider, so the exact line-up shifts over time.
